Renovation of an educational facility in Berkeley, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade educational facility.

This is a fire alarm replacement project. The existing fire alarm panel shall be replaced with a new fire alarm system equipped with an emergency voice system. Included in the scope of work: 1. Existing conventional devices shall be replaced with addressable devices on a one-for-one basis at existing locations. 2. Existing horns and horn strobes shall be removed. 3. Provide new speaker strobes at locations denoted on the drawings. 4. Maintain and replicate existing sequence of operation. 5. Add new monitor modules at fire sprinkler water flow and tamper switches at the locations denoted on the drawings. 6. Provide new fire alarm devices at locations denoted on the drawings. Bidders must submit a Contractor’s Special Statement of Experience on the Contractor’s letterhead, documenting: - Successful completion as prime contractor of at least three and no more than five comparable Fire Alarm projects within the last five years, each with a construction value at award of $300,000 or greater. Do not include projects currently under construction. - All submitted projects must be within the nine Bay Area counties defined in the document. - For each project: include project name, address, owner’s name, contract value at award, total Change Order value, completion date, owner’s representative email and phone, and description of how the project is comparable. - List all Fire Alarm projects on UC Campuses and National Labs (LBNL, LLNL) completed or currently being worked on in the last 5 years, if any. Bidders are required to register for access to bidding documents. Bids can only be submitted by those who attend the mandatory pre-bid conference and site tour in its entirety. The successful bidder must hold a current and active California "C-10" Electrical Contractor’s license at the time of submission of the bid. All workers must be paid prevailing wage and meet UC Fair Wage requirements.
