The Edgewater Beach Surge Tunnel (EBST) will eliminate the CSO-069 outfall. CSO-069 is currently fully controlled during typical year rain events but activates during heavy storms due to elevated flow levels in the District's Northwest Interceptor. The EBST project includes a 1,350-foot long, 10- to 12-foot diameter tunnel built in rock, including a diversion structure, drop shaft, and junction chamber. The system will be designed to convey flow and provide surge relief to the Northwest Interceptor during larger storm events. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
