Renovation of a multi-residential development in Granite City, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade multi-residential development.
The project involves upgrading the electric service at the Red Brick Apartments at America's Central Port so that each unit has its own electric meter. Currently, the units are not individually metered for electric service. The contractor selected will be responsible for coordination with the City of Granite City and Ameren Illinois to design and construct a solution. No other instructions to bidders are provided. The Port is seeking proposals in order to select a top-ranked Team to coordinate with Ameren Illinois and the City of Granite City and design a solution to individually meter electric service to the buildings, and construct the selected solution The Port intends to fund the project out of its annual capital improvement budget; however, the total cost of the project is expected to exceed any single year's budget. Therefore, the project is expected to be split up over several years based on the estimated cost of construction. If funds allow, the Port would prefer to complete at least one building per year. The top-ranked team will be required to recommend a phasing plan for completion of the project that accommodates current residents.
