Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The work consists of constructing an outdoor exhibit and river overlook along an existing sidewalk at Fort Smith National Historic Site. The project includes approximately 2,000 square feet of colored and stained concrete, installation of nine ornamental trees with turfgrass seeding, and placement of 17 tons of boulders. Additional elements include various signage, a mural art piece, seven NPS interpretive panels, and five custom pylons. Three panels will be mounted in traditional NPS 45-degree angle metal frames, while four will be affixed to boulders. The scope also involves tree protection, grading with approximately 87 cubic yards of fill, and removal and replacement of about 40 linear feet of existing sidewalk. Contractors are responsible for all quantities. Bid Option 1 includes installing approximately 1,400 square feet of understory plantings and mulch with cultivated edges along planting beds, replacing some seeded turfgrass areas. Required landscape walkthroughs and approvals with the COR must be completed. Bid Option 2 includes sandblasting approximately 570 square feet of a custom curved pattern on the installed colored concrete sidewalk, including creation of the pattern guide and required mock-ups.
