It is the intention of these specifications to provide prospective contractors the requirements to perform repair and maintenance services of County bridges, dams, roadways, and other structures on an as-needed basis, as required by the Middlesex County Department of Transportation, Office of Engineering. To be given consideration, written requests for interpretation shall be received at least five (5) business days prior to the date fixed for the opening of the bids. Question Deadline 12/23/2025 Every request for an interpretation shall be in writing, addressed to the Purchasing Agent and/or the Purchasing staff member Alexandra Lopez The work to be performed under this contract generally consists of, but are not limited to the following: Repair and/or replacement of structural and non-structural concrete, timber and steel components of bridges, dams and other classes of structure The repair and maintenance of roadway pavements, curbs, sidewalks and drainage structure All work performed shall be as directed by the Engineer and shall be accomplished at the site of the structure, County facility, or Contractor's shop depending on the specific conditions of the work. Example of the work include, but are not limited to: Concrete removal Placement of reinforcement steel Placing concrete Grouting and pressure injection Deck Repairs Repairs of cracks and spalls Repair and/or replacement of timber bearing pile, timber bulkheads, timber sheeting, wales, caps, stringers, timber decking and timber fender systems Repair and/or replacement of steel stringers, floor beans, girders, steel bracings, utility supports, steel caps, bridge seats, bearings Repair or replacement of deck joints, dewatering, mud jacking, sand and water blasting, pneumatically applied motors Construction of curb sidewalk on bridges and roadways Roadway pavement repair, maintenance and widening Milling and resurfacing Construction and/or repair of inlets and stream drains Other work incidental thereto
