The project consists of furnishing and installing one new natural gas powered generator at the Mountain Top Pump Station, and one new diesel powered generator at the Mountain Side Pump Station. General contractors who bid must purchase at minimum the digital plans and specifications. Performance and labor and material payment bonds, proof of insurance, and a complete list of subcontractors and suppliers will be required prior to the signing of the contract. A performance bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the contract costs and labor and material payment bond in an amount of one hundred percent of the contract cost in the form and terms approved by North Marshall Utilities will be required at the signing of the contract. In addition, the contractor must furnish a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the specifications at the time of signing. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or nonresident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a bid for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This includes evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama. Nonresidents must show evidence of qualifying with the Secretary of State to do business in Alabama. Bids must be clearly identified on the exterior of the package with the bidder's name, current license number, address, the name of the project, and the time and place of the bid opening. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for a period of sixty days. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technical errors if it is in the best interest of the owner. All bids received after the deadline will be returned unopened.
