Sealed bids are invited from experienced and eligible contractors for the Bloomingdale Elementary School Addition and Renovation, BID #BD101859. The bid proposal must include all labor, material, and services necessary to complete the project in strict accordance with the provided drawings and specifications. Bids shall be received from a single prime contractor. Plans, specifications, instructions to bidders, and bid forms are available at Eastern Engineering's Virtual Planroom or at the office of Eastern Engineering. A refundable deposit is required for each complete set of plans and specifications, with only complete sets being distributed. There are shipping and handling charges for delivery of the bidding documents. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond equal to five percent (5%) of the bid. In the event of withdrawal or failure to execute a satisfactory contract within ten days, Fort Wayne Community Schools may declare the bid security forfeited as liquidated damages. Bidders may not modify, withdraw, or cancel their bid for sixty days following the designated receipt time without consent. Fort Wayne Community Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities. The successful bidder must provide Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount within ten days after contract execution. These bonds must remain in full force for twelve months following Substantial Completion.
