The Liberty Public School District No. 53 will receive bid proposals for FOUNDATION UNDERPINNING SERVICE at Alexander Doniphan Elementary. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any informality. Copies of bid documents may be secured by emailing Jason Breit, Director of Purchasing. Sealed bids must be submitted by 1:00 PM CST on the specified date, at which time all bid proposals received will be publicly opened. Bids should be delivered to Liberty Public Schools Distribution Center, Attn: Jason Breit, Director of Purchasing. This project involves stabilizing a designated portion of the existing building foundation at Alexander Doniphan Elementary in accordance with the engineered drawings and specifications prepared for this work. The intent of this project is to provide long-term structural support and prevent settlement by installing underpinning elements as detailed in the engineering documents. Contractors will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and permitting required to complete the work. All work shall be performed in accordance with the engineered underpinning plan, general notes, and details included in the project documents. Underpinning shall be micro-piles or resistance piers at contractor's option. See engineering drawings for more details. The scope of this project includes all work necessary to complete the structural underpinning of designated building areas at Alexander Doniphan Elementary School. The contractor shall execute the following items at a minimum: A. Perform all excavation required to access foundation areas identified in the engineering documents. B. Install underpinning elements, piers, or supports as specified in the engineered plans and details. C. Coordinate with the engineer of record for all inspections, verifications, and approvals required during installation. D. Perform all concrete placement, grouting, structural connections, and tie-ins required to complete the underpinning system. E. Backfill, compact, and restore all disturbed areas following completion of underpinning activities. F. Protect and maintain existing structural integrity throughout all phases of work. G. Provide temporary shoring or bracing as required to maintain stability during underpinning operations. H. Restore any interior or exterior finishes affected by the work to equal or better condition. I. Provide final grading and site restoration in areas impacted by construction activities.
