Demolition, site work, outdoor lighting, new construction and renovation of an educational facility in Shasta Lake, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; for outdoor lighting for a educational facility; and 2,400-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.
The Shasta Lake School project consists of constructing a new two-story, stick-built educational facility totaling approximately 16,000 gross square feet- 8,000 square feet per floor- designed to meet current California Building Code and Title 24 requirements and subject to full DSA review and approval. The building program includes general and specialty classrooms, administrative offices, restrooms on both floors, circulation areas with stairways and an elevator, and complete mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems, including security cameras. Scope elements also encompass structural foundations, the exterior envelope, interior finishes, casework, and all required utility integrations to support campus operations. Exterior site improvements include demolition of existing buildings and portables; grading and earthwork; new hardscape and concrete flatwork; ADA-compliant access routes; landscaping and irrigation; utility trenching and connections; site lighting; shade structures; fencing; signage; and other required campus safety measures. Approximate Project Size: $15,000,000 to $16,000,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Any question or suggested edit must be submitted by a proposing Contractor by December 31, 2025. The Owner may only respond to a question or suggested edit by issuing a written addendum by January 7, 2026. If the Owner does not timely respond to a question or suggested edit, then the question or suggested edit shall be deemed as having been rejected by the Owner. (See Sections V.B, VII, and VIII.B, below, for additional details.) Project Description, Plans, and Specifications The District plans to construct the Work, on a District-owned site located at 4620 Vallecito Street, in Shasta Lake, Shasta County, California, and the District is soliciting proposals for the construction of the Work. The District has retained Studio W of Chico, California, as its architect for the Contract ("Architect"). DSA approval of the plans and specifications for the Contract has not yet been issued, but will be obtained after award of the Lease-Leaseback Agreement. Any preconstruction services in the Lease-Leaseback Agreement may be performed before DSA approval, but the Work may not commence until DSA approval is received by the District, all preconstruction services are complete, the subcontractors are selected, and the Total Sublease Amount is approved by the District's governing board. Current plans and specifications may be obtained from the Architect. No District project labor agreement applies to this contract.
