The scope of work includes new construction of a two-level water park (including but not limited to a zero entry, lazy river, and water slides), kitchen pavilion, two-level restroom building, observation deck with storage, water slide tower, pool equipment rooms, ticket building, and associated site work in Lexington, NC. All contractors must have proper licenses as required by state laws governing their respective trades. General contractors must have a license classification for "building contractor" or "unclassified" as required by the NC General Contractors Licensing Board. For single prime contracts where the total value of the general construction does not exceed 25% of the total construction value, contractors under GS87- Arts 2 and 4 (Plumbing, Mechanical & Electrical) may bid and contract directly with the Owner as the single prime contractor and subcontract to other properly licensed trades. Each proposal must be accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check, or a bid bond equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal. A performance bond and a payment bond are required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Payment will be based on ninety-five percent (95%) of monthly estimates, with final payment made upon completion and acceptance of work. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Bidding documents must be obtained by registering with Duncan Parnell via their bid room. Only those purchasing contract documents through Duncan Parnell directly will be considered an official planholder.
