Overview For the duration of the Contract term, the Contractor must develop, implement, and provide a defensive driving training curriculum and certification program (Program) that focuses on large vehicles and mass transit vehicles for the Metropolitan Council. The Program will educate and certify Council trainers who will then provide training to all Council bus and light rail operators on a schedule determined by the Council. The Program must meet the requirements expressed within this Scope of Work. 2. Term The Contract term is four years following the date of Contract execution. 3. Training Curriculum A. The Contractor must develop four curriculum Programs. 1. A Program for certified Council instructors to train new bus and lightrail operators. 2. A Program for certified Council instructors to recertify bus and lightrail operators three years following their last defensive driving training, or after any accident that occurs while they're operating a bus or light rail train. 3. A Program to train and certify Council instructors to train Council bus and light rail operators with the defensive driving Programs required by 3(A)(1) and 3(A)(2) of this clause. (Trainthe-Trainer Program.) 4. A Program to re-certify Council instructors, certified by the Program required by 3(A)(3) of this clause, every two years. B. Curriculum training materials must include, but are not limited to instructional PowerPoint presentations, on-road curriculum, instructional videos, manuals, study guides, patches, quizzes, evaluation forms, and facilitator materials. The instructional videos must include classroom session and practical sessions. The curriculum must incorporate and focus on large vehicles and mass transit vehicles. The Contractor must provide for all training materials to be accessible both virtually and physically. Virtual materials must be available for operators and trainers to access at any time.
