Renovation of a parking garage in Owensboro, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.

A qualified contractor is required to provide all labor, material, equipment, incidentals, and supervision necessary to complete the specified elevator modernization. DAMAGE TO ADJACENT FACILITIES OR PRIVATE PROPERTY: The Contractor shall be required to conduct the work in a manner so as to avoid damaging existing utilities, manholes, valve boxes and/or other utility boxes, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, sidewalk ramps, mail boxes, and private property and appurtenances that may be within or adjacent to the work area. The Contractor shall notify the Owner immediately if any damage occurs. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to repair or replace any such items damaged by his work or neglectful practices, at no additional cost to the City of Owensboro. PROTECTION OF WORK: The Contractor shall be responsible to erect sufficient barricades, signage, and etc. to protect his work from damage. Any work damaged due to improper protection measures shall be repaired and /or removed and reconstructed at no additional cost to the City of Owensboro. ELEVATOR DESCRIPTION (Please Note: Bidder is expected to field verify before submitting bid): o Elevator Number: Daviess Street -12037 o Type: Hydraulic Passenger o Rated Load: 2100 lbs. o Rated Speed: 100 fpm o Landings: Five (5) o Floors Served: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 o Travel: Approximately 42' o Operation System: Selective Collective DETAILED SCOPE OF WORK: Materials/Components & Installation/Labor o Furnish and Install New Pump Unit o Non-proprietary power unit and control valves o Submersible motor o Furnish and Install Hydraulic Cylinder Packing o Furnish and Install All New Wiring in Hoistway, Car and Machine Room o Remove, Refurbish, and Reinstall Car Guides as Needed o Remove, Refurbish, and Reinstall Pit Equipment & Paint Buffers/Channels o Retain Car Frame & Platform o Retain Guide Rails o Retain Hydraulic Cylinder Assembly Operation Systems o Furnish and Install New Controller o Microprocessor Controller o Non-proprietary: MCE, GAL Galaxy, or Smartrise SMH (All should not require external tools or computers for service and troubleshooting) o Furnish and Install New Selector System Furnish and Install New Solid State Starter o Assure all upgrades are in compliance with the latest applicable revision of the ASME/ANSI A17.l Code Door Equipment o Furnish and Install New Door Operator o New Closed-Loop Door Operator o Non-Proprietary: GAL MOVFR o Furnish and Install New Door Clutch o Furnish and Install New Door Rollers/Spirators o Furnish and Install New Door Re-Opening Device o Solid State Non-Contact Infrared Passenger Protection Device o Remove, Refurbish, and Reinstall Car/Hall Tracks/Hangers/Header As Needed Hoistway Entrances o Retain All Existing Cab Enclosure o Retain All Existing Signal Fixtures o Furnish and Install New Car Operating Panel (COP) o New main car operating panel with all necessary push buttons, key switches and message indicators. COP shall be #4 brushed stainless steel finish. o New Applied Car Operating Panel. o Meet ADA Requirements. o Provide appropriate fire service operations required by ASME A17.1 Code. o Furnish and Install New Car Position Indicator o Install LED indicator in the car operating panel. o Furnish and Install New Emergency Communication o Install Hands-Free 24/7 answering service line. o Furnish and Install New Hall Push Button Stations o Surface-mounted LED fixtures at each floor. o #4 Brushed Stainless Steel o Furnish and Install New Car Lanterns ESTIMATED SCHEDULE: From the issued PO to the final inspection, bidder shall list how many calendar days it will take to complete the project. MODERNIZATION TURNKEY PROJECT CHECKLIST: This check list is only intended as a guideline for Owner/Contractors based upon experience with inspectors and knowledge of applicable code. Authorities having jurisdiction can make additional requests. o Provide GFCI duplex outlets in the machine room and pit. o Provide permanently installed electric lighting in machine room with a lighting intensity of at least 200Ix (19 fc) at the floor level. o Provide separate outlet (GFCI) for sump pump in pit. o Existing sump pump may not drain into the sewer system. Must have a suitable cover, Dedicated GFCI power supply and a visible outlet to a 55 gallon drum or approved oil separator. o The pit lighting shall provide an illumination of not less than 100Ix (10 fc) at the pit floor. o Provide a class ABC fire extinguisher; to be located within reach of machine room doorway. o Remove all foreign pipes, wiring, material, and electrical switches such as hallway lights from machine room, that are not directly related to the elevator. Nothing that invites anyone into the room but licensed elevator personnel is allowed. No alarm panels, security systems, fire panels, light switches, plumbing shut off valves, etc. are allowed in this room. o Ensure that the room rating is secure. Inspector may not allow drop ceilings or other means of "hiding" pipes, wiring, etc.; any holes in machine room walls must be repaired. o 120 VAC Cab Lights disconnect adjacent to Main Line Disconnect of the opening side of the machine room door. o Main Line Disconnect shall have a means to be locked in the "off" position and cannot be opened while in the "on" position. Dual element slow blown fuses and rejection clips are required by National Electric Code. Disconnect must have auxiliary contact to disconnect emergency rescue device if such rescue device is being installed. Disconnect will need to be properly grounded. o Each enclosed elevator lobby must have an automatic means of fire detection regardless of ambient conditions, at all floors. o Install smoke and heat rise sensors per code. Supervisory panel may not be located in the machine room. Provide dry contact closure from all three zones inside or adjacent to elevator controller. o Provide proper clear, safe access to the machine room. o Install dedicated telephone line for Elevator Emergency Telephone Service in the car and provide an on-demand, authorized personnel with information that identifies the building location, elevator number and assistance is required. o Machine room door must be self-closing, self-locking and fire rated to 1.5 hours. o Provide HVAC per code requirements. o Provide light protection in machine room and elevator.
