Purpose and Description of Services 1. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, parts, supplies, equipment, tools, licenses, permits, travel, disposal fees, and incidentals necessary to provide Replacement and Installation of Roll-Up Doors to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). 2. Refer to the Proposed Form of Agreement, Exhibit A, for a more complete description of services. an estimated value of greater than $5,000.00, but not more than $461,000.00 Q&A: 12/26/2025 12:00PM Questions regarding this IFPQ must be submitted in writing. Bidders are encouraged to submit their written questions by December 26, 2025.Written questions must include the individual's name, firm name, complete address, and must reference IFPQ No. 02A2463. Questions must be sent to the following email: Email: Wendy.Kwong@dot.ca.gov Proposed Award Date (estimate) 01/12/2026 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. A. Removal and replacement of 14 existing roll-up doors and installation of two (2) new roll-up doors with commercial grade doors. 1) Contractor shall install 10 New Insulated Rolling Service Doors, Model 625 with motors, and approximately 14 feet by 14 feet without windows at the Susanville MS. 2) Contractor shall install two (2) New Rolling Steel Service Doors, Model 610, 18 gauge minimum, no motors, exterior mounted, with chain openers, and approximately 14 feet wide by 20 feet and four (4) inches tall without windows at the Susanville MS. 3) Contractor shall install four (4) New Sectional Rolling Service Doors, Model 422's with motors, and approximately 14 feet and two (2) inches by 14 feet and one (1) inch with windows at the Pulga MS. 4) Contractor shall install 18 new RHX Operators with safety equipment at the Redding MS (Special Crews). 5) Contractor shall remove and replace 25 slats for rolling service doors model 625. 6) Contractor shall remove and replace 14 existing and two (2) new installations of commercial steel roll-up doors with new commercial grade doors with new electronic monitored reversing edge safety system of correct size and design for these doors. New doors shall be exact or equivalent to the existing doors. Equivalence will be solely determined and approved by Caltrans Contract Manager. 7) Contractor shall furnish 16 replacement commercial grade roll-up door assemblies that match or are equivalent to the existing doors that are not being replaced. 8) Contractor shall connect electric door operators to the existing wiring. 9) Roll-up door assemblies shall have all new parts installed including motors. 10) All metal gauges shall be a minimum of 24 gauge. 11) Hardware shall be commercial grade. 12) Finish shall be the manufacturer's standard baked on polyester or epoxy prime and finish coats, applied to interior and exterior faces. Finish color will be selected by Caltrans Contract Manager. 13) The commercial grade roll-up door assemblies shall be provided as a complete unit produced by a single manufacturer, including frames, sections, bracket guides, tracks, counterbalance mechanisms, hardware, operators, and installation accessories, to suit opening and head room. 14) Doors, tracks, and operating equipment, complete with necessary hardware, anchors, inserts, and equipment supports, shall be installed in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions. 15) Contractor shall ensure all roll-up doors are properly closed at the end of each day. B. Prior to installation, Contractor shall submit all materials and equipment to be installed, such as electric motors, rails, door springs, safety door edge strips, etc., and the manufacturer's descriptive data to Caltrans Contract Manager for approval. C. All roll-up doors shall be Overhead Door branded unless pre-approved by Caltrans Contract Manager in writing including side by side comparison with price quote submission. Documentation needs to include clarification of the following: distributors, parts availability, service technician's availability and manufacturer warranties. D. If existing power supply and control wiring is present, Contractor shall use what is existing. If it is not, Contractor shall provide, install, and connect power supply and control wiring. E. Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of all existing equipment service doors, existing motors, and existing accessories. All costs associated with the legal disposal shall be included in unit prices on Price Quote Proposal.
