Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Topeka, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The project consists of curb and gutter replacement, along with partial sidewalk replacement along SW Campbell to SW Wayne, between SW Huntoon and SW 16th Street. The intent of this project is to replace the curb and gutter with Combined Curb & Gutter (Type: Varies, Modified) without damaging the existing adjacent and/or abutting sidewalks or drive approaches. Project may include additional work associated with or affected by the construction activities. The approximate quantities of the curb and gutter replacement project are: Combined Curb & Gutter (type: Varies, Modified) 965 LF 4" Concrete Sidewalk Remove & Replace 20 SF 6" Concrete for approach transitions 288 SF Aggregate Base - AB-3 (2") for under curbs 43 Ton Aggregate Base - AB-3 (6") for approach transition 11 Ton 2" Temporary Concrete Cap for C&G Ribbon 965 SF Asphalt Pavement Patching (2") 18 Ton Tree Removal 1 EA Steel Plate Driveway Access 1 EA Seeding, Fertilizing and Mulch 0.10 AC Traffic Control 1 LS Bid Bond Required : No A meeting prior to beginning construction is required. Contact Chris Willard, Construction Manager, at 368-2418 to arrange for a meeting. The specific area for limits of the work will be marked (Red/Pink -lined designations) by City of Topeka staff prior to construction. Work on this project shall be between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm, Monday-Friday, unless amended by the City Construction Manager. The Engineering Division will issue a Start Work Order after contract execution by the city The work will be complete and ready for final acceptance/payment within 45 days of the Start Work Order. Additional days for inclement weather will be granted at the discretion of the Construction Manager. Owner and Contractor recognize that time is of the essence of this Agreement and that Owner will suffer financial loss if the Work is not completed within the times specified. They also recognize the delays, expense and difficulties involved in proving in a legal preceding the actual loss suffered by Owner if the Work is not completed on time. Accordingly, instead of requiring any such proof, Owner and Contractor agree that as liquidated damages. For each day that expires after the time specified for Substantial and Final Completion. For each day that expires after the time specified for Substantial and Final Completion. The Owner may deduct the total accrued liquidated damages from the final payment due to the Contractor. The following submittals are required: Concrete mix design/certification AB-3 aggregate certification Hot-mixed asphalt mix design/certification The City reserves the right to increase or decrease the project quantities and acknowledges these additions/deletions may increase or decrease project quantities and Contractor compensation based on the unit prices bid.
