As of January 26, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. *Contractors are required to reach out to the City directly to obtain plans.* Prices quoted must be valid for a minimum of (60) sixty days from the date of the bid opening. The project for which bids are to be received generally includes daylighting of storm sewer and establishment of a naturalized stream channel, creation of shallow wetland pools, and stabilization of existing streambank, tree removal, concrete spillway repair, storm sewer removal and restoration with native vegetation along the Mahoney Creek Tributary within the City of Batavia, Kane County, Illinois. Bidders are advised of the following requirements of this contract: 1) Illinois Prevailing Wage, 10% of which shall be completed by members of the Apprenticeship Program; 2) 5% Bid Bond with the bid submittal; 3) 110% Performance Bond within 15 calendar days after Contract award, and; 4) IDOT Certification of Eligibility and 5) applicable OSHA and EPA requirements. Bidders are also advised, the Invitation to Bid and Bid Conditions in the Contract Documents contain specific qualifications and documentation related to the nature of the work, that the potential bidder must provide with their bid to be considered eligible. The City Council of the City of Batavia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or to waive any technicalities, discrepancies, or information in the bids, or to advertise for new bids. The Owner reserves the right to defer the acceptance of any bid and the award of a Contract for a period not exceeding sixty (60) days after the date of opening the bids. The City of Batavia does not discriminate in admission, access to, treatment, or employment in its programs and activities. The City of Batavia also reserves the right to require the low bidder to file proof of, within seven (7) days of the bid opening, his ability to finance and execute the project. This proof shall include, but not be limited to, a financial statement, list of equipment owned by bidder, backlog ofjobs under a Contract only to a Bidder who furnishes satisfactory evidence that he has the ability, sufficient capital, facilities, and plant to enable him to prosecute the work successfully and promptly, and to complete the work within the time specified in the Contract Documents. The daylighting of storm sewer and establishment of a naturalized stream channel, creation of shallow wetland pools, and stabilization of existing streambank, tree removal, concrete spillway repair, storm sewer removal and restoration with native vegetation along the Mahoney Creek Tributary within the City of Batavia, Kane County, Illinois as shown in the plans. The project location is accessible from Hanson Street to the south and Cleveland Avenue to the north. Work shall include grading and shaping a stream channel (earthwork), streambank and spillway stabilization, storm sewer removal, seeding, tree removal, stone riprap, pedestrian bridge construction, asphalt trail construction, and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as described herein. The success of this project is highly dependent upon the manner in which the restoration and maintenance is completed.
