The Department of Veterans Affairs, Dayton VA Medical Center requires comprehensive services to prepare the site with medical air for the installation of seven EndoDry cabinets--six in the Digestive/Endoscopy section and one in the Operating/Surgery section. The contractor will install a suitable medical air compressor in the basement capable of supplying 30-35 SCFM at 100 PSI to all cabinets, meeting the combined airflow requirement of 29.4 SCFM. The compressor must feature a triplex configuration for reliability and redundancy and be installed per manufacturer recommendations in the Basement Mechanical Room (BD-114). Work includes pouring a new concrete pad, installing isolators, anchoring the unit, routing fresh air intake through a sealed concrete wall, removing one wall-mounted service sink faucet, and installing a new floor drain per VA plumbing standards. Medical air piping will be routed vertically through three floors to the Operating/Surgery section and one floor to the Digestive/Endoscopy section, with most horizontal piping in the basement to minimize operational disruptions. The contractor shall utilize the existing utility chase in the designated stairwell for routing medical air piping and electrical conduits, field-verify electrical requirements, and provide necessary upgrades. The system will connect to emergency power for generator backup and tie into the master alarm panel with all required alarm points. All piping must be medical gas-rated, cleaned, factory-plugged, and installed per NFPA99 standards, with fire-rated wall penetrations properly sealed. A third-party verifier will inspect and certify pressure and purity upon completion.
