The Town of Duxbury seeks qualified bidders for the Temple Street Dam Removal Project, which involves removing the Temple Street Dam and replacing it with a three-step riffle/pool stream segment. The purpose is to ensure passage for fish and other aquatic species, restore ecological processes, and restore natural hydrology while avoiding downstream flood impacts to infrastructure. All bids must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Invitation for Bids. Vendors are invited to submit sealed bids for the project as specified. Bids must be labeled Temple Street Dam Removal Project. It is strongly recommended that all prospective bidders have a representative in attendance at the pre-bid conference and site visit. Questions must be submitted in writing by email. The Town of Duxbury reserves the right to reject any and all proposals if it is deemed in its best interest to do so, and reserves the right to decline to make any award if deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. Pre-Bid Conference and Site Visit will be held at the Temple Street Dam project site located at the Myrtle/Temple Street bridge crossing of the South River in Duxbury, MA 02332, on December 30, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. It is strongly recommended that all prospective bidders have a representative in attendance. All questions must be submitted in writing by email to Nancy Rufo at rufo@duxburyma.gov by January 2, 2026. The Contractor must comply with the Massachusetts public construction workforce participation requirements, which mandate specific goals for minority (15.3%) and female (6.9%) workers on all state and state-assisted construction projects. The Work consists of the Temple Street Dam Removal and replacement with a three-step riffle/pool stream segment to ensure passage for fish and other aquatic species, restore ecological processes, and restore natural hydrology while avoiding downstream flood impacts to infrastructure, at 0 Keene Street, Duxbury, Massachusetts, and all work incidental thereto, in accordance with the Specifications and plans prepared by Horsley Witten Group, Inc. dated June 10, 2025 (Sheets 1-13).
