The work includes: replacement of 2, four-inch transition couplings for a sewer force main; excavation around an existing sewer manhole; pipe cutting and reconnection using Town-supplied materials; observation of repairs; and associated labor and equipment. Work is tidal-dependent and must be completed before 6/24/26. Final asphalt restoration will occur at a later date. Estimated Cost $10,000 - $50,000 Contractor Qualification Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. Town DPW staff will shut off power to 30 E1 sewer pumps; 2. Sewer manhole to be excavated around 2 couplings; 3. 4" cast pipe and 2" PVC to be cut, as needed, to install new Hymax or repair couplings, and reconnect the force main; 4. Town will provide the needed stock for repair; 5. Town will provide a sewer pump truck as needed; 6. Repair will be observed for 30 minutes before backfill; 7. Minimum crew will be: 5 utility workers, 2 - 10,000 lb. dump trucks, 35,000 lb. excavator with 24" - 36" bucket, utility truck, trench box and misc. pumps, hand tools, and safety equipment. 8. Road area 25' x 32' to be restored with 4" of asphalt a later time to allow for settling.
