Renovation of a mixed-use development in Birmingham, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and municipal facility.
Question deadline: 01/16/2026 Sealed proposals will be received from General Contractors for HVAC Upgrades at South Shades Crest Elementary, Hoover Hall, and Hoover City Schools Board of Education Office. Each facility is an individual bid package: Package A - South Shades Crest Elementary, Package B - Hoover Hall, Package C - Hoover City Schools Board of Education Office. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Hoover City Schools for not less than five percent of the bid amount (up to $10,000) must accompany each proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance are required at contract signing. Bid documents will be distributed electronically by the Engineer to General Contractors. Subcontractors must obtain documents from a General Contractor. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid conference is required for all General Contractor Bidders. Bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the Engineer. Bidders exceeding the licensing threshold must be licensed per Alabama law and display their license number on the proposal envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive technical errors if deemed in their best interest.
