Project includes, but not limited to, procuring, fabricating and modifying existing wrought iron and aluminum gates, installing hardware, block walls, masonry, concrete and asphalt work, installation of electrical service, installation of mechanical operators with timer interface and programming for all gates. The goal of this project is to have all pedestrian and vehicle gates automated to swing open and closed, with self-closing hardware, so they may be closed securely after-hours. Bids should be submitted for both entrances and the basis for award will be the combined costs of Location 1 and Location 2. The City reserves the right to offer award for a single location, to be determined based on priority and budget availability, or to offer award for both locations. If the City offers award for a single location, it reserves the right to move forward with the other location for a time period not to exceed 1 calendar year after contract execution if the contractor can proceed using the submitted pricing. SCOPE OF WORK The City of Greenville is requesting bids for both entrance locations. Location 1: North Main Entrance Location 1: The North Main Entrance will address the existing 2 pedestrian wrought irongatesand existing 2 wrought iron gates for vehicles at the North Main Street entrance. This locationwillrequire repairs to the existing historic gates, plus the procurement and installationof amotorizedswing arm mechanical operator, with programmable electronic interface closures. Thisscopeincludes the permitting, connection, burying and installation of the required electrical service, andconduit/raceways as required, for the automation of the mechanical gates. Historic Vehicular Swing Gate Operator Installation / Timer interface &ProgrammingInstall automated gate operators on two vehicular swing gates located at the driveentrance,enabling programmable control of gate access through a timer interface. Mount and configure two gate operators on the existing vehicular swinggates. Ensure mechanical compatibility with gate swing radius and structural integrity. Validate smooth operation under load and environmental conditions. Integrate programmable timer interface with gate operators. Configure scheduled opening and closing routines aligned with facility access hours. Enable manual override and fail-safe logic for emergency or maintenance scenarios. Installa Knox Box for EMS over-ride. Historic Pedestrian Gates Remove existing pedestrian gates and retrofit the access points with self-closinghingesandelectronic locks that align with cemetery operating hours. Gate Removal & Retrofit Remove two existing gates at designated pedestrian entry points. Modify gate frames and hardware as needed to accommodate newhinge andlocksystems.Install heavy-duty closer hinges to ensure gates automatically close after pedestrianentry.Test and calibrate hinge tension for consistent closure under varying conditions. Electronic Lock Integration Install electronic gate locks with programmable timer functionality. Configure locks to remain disengaged during public access hours. Automatic engaging locking mechanism for after-hours when the cemeteryisclosed.Validate lock timing against cemetery schedule and emergency access protocols. Power Installation from Elford Source Install electrical power infrastructure sourced fromElford Street tosupport gateautomation, access control, or other designated systems. Location 2: Church Street Entrance New Vehicular Swing Gate Design, fabricate, procure and install two new vehicular swing gates that replicatethestyleandspecifications of the existing gates at the North Main entrance. Gate Design & Placement Fabricate two vehicular swing gates to match North Main Street entranceaestheticsand dimensions. Position gates to span the left and right drive lanes at the entry point. Account for gate swing radius to ensure safe clearance and avoid obstructionduringoperation. Gate Automation & Control / Emergency Access Integration Install two gate operators with programmable timer interfaces. Configure automated open/close schedules to align with facility access requirements.Integrate timer logic for daily operational consistency. Install a Knox Box system interfaced with the gate controller. Ensure emergency services have secure after-hours access via Knox Boxoverride. Validate system compliance with local emergency access protocols. New Pedestrian Gates Design, fabricate, and install two pedestrian gates and hardware to replicate the style, dimensions,and finish of North Main entrance gates. Gate Fabrication & Installation / Self-Closing MechanismInstall two gates at designated pedestrian access points with proper alignment andanchoring. Install heavy-duty closer hinges on both gates. Ensure reliable self-closing action after pedestrian entry to maintain perimeter security.Electronic Locking System / Install timer-based control Install electronic gate locks integrated with a programmable timer. Configure locks to remain disengaged during public access hours. Automatically engage locks after hours when the cemetery is closed tovisitors. Validate lock timing against cemetery operating schedule and emergencyaccessprotocols. Estimate shall include all saw cutting, concrete or asphalt boring, cuttingorreplacement, to include finish work. Estimate to include painting, touchupstoanymasonry, repairs/replacement to landscape areas. All work is to be performed during standard work week of Monday -Friday's, from7:00AM - 4:00pm. No work on holidays, weekends or during internments, toursorspecial events. Material and debris removal process is to be approved by City andshouldminimizematerial from access to the surrounding area. Contractor to remove oldroll gate. Contractor to be responsible for site safety and security, by providingafencearoundany hazardous areas and installing barricades Contractor shall ensure all OSHA requirements are observed, includingthePPEforall workers on the site.
