A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Separate sealed bids are requested for the construction of the Martins Ferry Force Main Replacement. Completion time is set as 180 calendar days for substantial completion and 210 calendar days for final completion, with liquidated damages of $1,000.00 for each day of delay. Each bid must include a bid security equal to 5% of the total bid price. The successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds and execute the contract agreement within 10 days of notification of bid acceptance. Compliance is required with certain federal executive orders and regulations regarding equal employment opportunity and minority and women's business enterprises, as well as with the U.S. Department of Labor's Davis Bacon wage provisions and "American Iron and Steel" requirements. Bids cannot be withdrawn for 60 days after opening. Only contractors obtaining the contract documents from Underwood Engineers, Inc. are qualified to submit a bid. All questions must be answered, and the data given must be clear and comprehensive.
