A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Separate sealed bids are sought for the construction of HDPE water mains to replace existing asbestos cement water mains, valves, hydrants, and appurtenances on portions of Granite St., Billings St., Spring St., Myrtle St., Adams St., and Shady Lane in the Highland Area of Milford. The completion time for the project is 240 calendar days for substantial completion and 270 calendar days for final completion, measured from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will apply for delays. Each general bid must include a bid security equal to 5% of the total bid price, and the successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds, executing the contract agreement within 10 days of acceptance. The project may be funded through various state and federal programs. The successful bidder must comply with federal equal employment opportunity mandates, demonstrate compliance with the EPA's MBE/WBE rule, adhere to Davis Bacon wage provisions, and meet "American Iron and Steel" requirements. No bidder may withdraw a bid within 60 days of the bid opening. General contractors must obtain contract documents from the designated engineer and be on the project mailing list to qualify to submit a bid.
