Sealed proposals are invited for the replacement of the dust collection system at the Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center under CONTRACT M - HVAC WORK. Bidders must submit proposals using the standard form, enclosed in sealed opaque envelopes clearly identifying the job, the bidder's name and address, and the bid number. Contract documents are available online or in hard copy by deposit, with the plan deposit refundable per terms provided. Only documents obtained through the designated provider will be recognized for official plan holders. All addenda will be distributed through the registered provider. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to 10% of the total bid amount, and a certification of bonding company is required. Bidders must submit a sealed list of subcontractors and agreed-upon payment for certain trades, as specified, with their bid. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and accept the bid deemed in its best interest. Bidders must agree to hold their price for forty-five days post-opening, subject to certain statutory exceptions. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference and walk-through is recommended for potential bidders. BRIEF PURPOSE OF PROJECT / GENERAL A. The purpose of the project is to remove and replace select existing dust collection system. B. This Section provides an abbreviated summary of the work for the Construction Contracts associated with the Owner's program to construct the project. A. Furnish all labor, equipment, materials, tools, means, methods, and incidentals necessary to complete the Work as required by the Contract Documents for this Construction Contract. Each contractor shall coordinate, through the Owner/Architect/Engineer, the work of their contract with the work by others. B. This following abbreviated summary is provided in order to briefly describe the work covered by the Contract Documents for this Construction Contract. It is not all inclusive of the work under the Contract. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Startup participation for the various equipment and systems of the project and provide complete service to troubleshoot and assist manufacturer service representatives in obtaining a completely functional installation. 2. Removing select existing dust collectors and associated ductwork/controls. 3. Providing new dust collector and ductwork drops to shop equipment, dry/wet fire protection system & return filter plenum. 4. Modifying dust collector ductwork in masonry shop. 5. Low voltage wiring. 6. Testing and balancing of systems. 7. Project closeout submittals. 8. All other work shown and specified in the Contract Documents for Contract M.
