Renovation of a military facility in Washington, District of Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
The scope of work involves the full modernization of 13 traction-type elevators at the VACO building, including 12 passenger elevators and 1 freight elevator. All elevators must comply with applicable life safety and building codes. Modernization requires replacing every component of the elevator system, including traction machines, deflector sheaves, hoist ropes, rope compensation, governor rope, speed governor, type B safeties, overspeed protections, car counterweight buffers, and interior cab finishes and controls. Additional work includes installing new stopping devices, workman's lights and outlets, cartop operating devices, leveling devices, and emergency stop switches. **Location:** VACO Building, 810 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, D.C. 20420.
