The purpose is to establish an indefinite quantity, firm fixed price contract as the primary source for underground utility construction and telecommunications related services for the University of Florida. Services include machine and hand trenching, pushing/boring under or saw cutting of asphalt and concrete, digging splice/test holes, laying PVC conduit or other pipes, placing telecommunications cabling and fiber optic cables, termination of telecommunications cabling and fiber optics, constructing above ground communications cabinets and prefab vaults, placement of blue light emergency telephone units and foundations, installation of related electrical, piping, sanitary or mechanical work, and other underground services. Work will primarily be on the University of Florida main campus, with project size and scope ranging from small to large, performed on an as-needed basis. The contractor must take precautionary measures due to high concentrations of underground utilities and pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular traffic. To be considered, bidders must submit proof of competency, qualifications, and documentation including: identification of project management and safety personnel; evidence of satisfactory performance on similar projects; proof of a staffed office within 100 miles of Gainesville; proper licenses; proof of legal business status; a list of fleet and equipment; references and financial documentation; evidence of insurance; description of safety management; insurance experience modification rate; workload details; a list of subcontractors for work over $15,000; and a completed unit pricing schedule. Bidders must acknowledge compliance with bid requirements and provide any concerns with terms and conditions at the time of submittal. The University retains the right to select vendors for individual projects and does not guarantee work to any awardee.
