Renovation of a mixed-use development in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 14,766-square-foot laboratory facility.
The project involves the renovation of the University of Kentucky Seedhouse to extend its usable life and maintain weather resistance. The work includes addressing visible decay and cracking in the concrete masonry walls, repairing and waterproofing the façade, installing a new metal wall panel assembly with a fluid-applied air barrier on the South side, repairing, cleaning, and painting the masonry with breathable, exterior-grade masonry paint, demolishing and reconfiguring the existing loading dock for a new exterior walk-in cooler and vestibule, replacing damaged insulation in the Pre-Engineered Metal Building, installing a new high-velocity, low-speed fan, and renovating interior office spaces, restrooms, and breakroom with new finishes, HVAC, and electrical fixtures. Additionally, a new Work Room and Processing/Testing Lab will be constructed.
