Site work for a water / sewer project in Douglas, Arizona. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Sealed bid proposals are invited for RFP 2026-pw-020 for the construction of a new water production well (Well No. 20). Bids must be addressed and submitted to the City Clerk, City of Douglas, specifying on the outside wrapper the nature of the bid and reference RFP 2026-pw-020 New Water Production Well No. 20. The Council reserves the right to reject any bid, defer action on bids, and to waive any informality thereof. Any late submissions will be returned to the sender. The installation of one new water production well as specified herein. The CONTRACTOR shall drill an approximately 16-inch diameter pilot borehole to the specified depth of approximately 1,200 ft bls using direct or reverse circulation rotary drilling methods. Lithologic cutting samples, geophysical logging, downhole zonal groundwater sampling, slug testing, and zone pumping will be conducted in the pilot borehole as specified. Following completion of the pilot borehole and receipt of the analytical results of the zonal sampling, the OWNER reserves the right to cancel the remainder of the drilling program if it is deemed by the OWNER and ENGINEER that subsurface conditions do not meet expectations or proposed objectives for installation and operation of a production well at the site. If that determination is made, the CONTRACTOR will abandon the borehole in accordance with Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) regulations and shall restore the site, as nearly as is practical, to pre-drilled conditions. If the OWNER opts to complete the production well at the site, a final well design will be developed by the ENGINEER based on the information obtained from the pilot borehole drilling and testing program and will be provided to the CONTRACTOR within five days following collection of the uppermost groundwater zonal sample and analysis of sieve results from drill cuttings. The CONTRACTOR will then ream the borehole to the specified diameter of 26 inches and complete the water production well pursuant to the final well design. The anticipated depth of well completion is 1,000 feet, subject to final well design. A preliminary well design is presented in Figure 3 for bidding purposes. The scope of work presented herein also includes welldevelopment and aquifer testing. The OWNER reserves the right to drill beyond the depths specified, or to stop at lesser depths, depending on subsurface conditions. The dimensions of the well may also be modified based on information obtained during the drilling of the pilot hole. Borehole drilling, well installation, well development, well completion, and aquifer testing by the CONTRACTOR shall be conducted under the observation of the ENGINEER.
