Mississippi State University seeks to contract with a reputable and responsible Construction Management firm licensed in the State of Mississippi to provide Construction Management Adviser (CMa) services, on a full-time basis, for the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library project. The selected CMa will be part of the project team and assist the design professional with design development documents, contract documents, and the bidding process. Services required include pre-construction and construction services, with responsibility for coordinating and managing multiple prime contractors during the construction phase. The project involves constructing a 34,000 square foot, 3-story facility to house the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential Library, including a museum with new exhibits, event space, and support spaces. The project is federally funded and will be administered in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration guidelines. If the Owner elects to procure long lead time equipment directly from manufacturers, the CMa will assist and coordinate these efforts. The selected firm will perform tasks generally described in AIA C132-2019 Sections 3.2 and 3.3, including construction program evaluation, budget development, constructability review, project phasing, coordination and scheduling, cost estimating, and allocation of construction activities among multiple prime contractors. The contract will consist of two phases: Preconstruction Phase and Construction Phase Administration of the Construction Contract. Only firms licensed to do business in Mississippi may participate, and the CMa or any affiliated companies may not perform any of the construction work for the project. No reimbursement for proposal costs will be provided, and MSU reserves the right to divide the project or reject any or all proposals.
