Renovation of a sidewalk / parking lot in Starkville, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a sidewalk / parking lot.

Instructions to bidders, the applicable bid and binding forms, the plans and specifications, and the contract documents may be examined at the Office of the City Engineer, City Hall, 110 West Main Street, Starkville, Mississippi, during normal working hours, Monday through Friday. A certified check or bank draft drawn on a solvent bank, payable without condition to the City of Starkville, Mississippi, or a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount shall be submitted with each bid as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance of the contract properly secured. All contractors responding to this advertisement for bids must comply with all applicable requirements of Chapters 3 and 5 of Title 31 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended. Bid containers must be sealed and marked 2026 ADA IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT- PROJECT NO. 26006. Upon the outside or exterior of which is found the contractor's current Certificate of Responsibility number or statement to the effect that the bid enclosed does not exceed $50,000.00, pursuant to the provisions of 31-3-21 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days without the written consent of the City. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids received, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, or to accept any bid which is deemed most favorable to the City. This work consists of clearing, grubbing, removing, and disposing of all items and objects within the limits of the rights-of-way, easement areas or areas shown on the plans or in the contract documentsthat are not designated to remain or to be removed in accordance with other provisions of the contract. This work shall also include the preservation of all vegetation, objects or materials designated to remain or to be salvaged, and the removal and satisfactory disposal of obstructions and salvageable material when their removal and disposal is not otherwise provided in the contract. The requirements for removal and disposal shall be in accordance with the provisions and requirements of MDOT Specifications Subsections 104.05 and 107.25, and Section 202 (MDOT Red Book, 2017 Edition). This work consists of the removal and satisfactory disposal of all buildings, fences, structures, old pavements, abandoned pipe lines and other obstructions that are not designated to remain or to be removed and disposed of under other provisions of the contract. This works also consists of necessary excavation incidental to the removal ofstructures and obstructions and backfilling the resulting cavity. Voids created buy the removal of, but not limited to, posts, concrete anchors, and footings, shall be backfilled and tamped in accordance with Section 203 of MDOT Specifications (2017 edition) This work consists of furnishing, transporting, placing, plant establishment, and all work, including ground preparation, fertilizing, seeding, and mulching, necessary to produce a satisfactory and acceptable growth of grass. At the Contractor's option, seeds and mulch may be incorporated using a hydraulically applied method under certain limitations. When hydraulically applied, it shall be performed in accordance with the requirements and methods addressed in Section 227. Under no circumstances shall fertilizer be incorporated hydraulically. This work consists of constructing concrete sidewalks on a prepared subgrade in accordance with the plans and specifications. This work may also include the placement of detectable warning panels / truncated domes in concrete sidewalk as shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer. Lines and grades shall be as shown on the plans or established. "Subgrade" in this section shall mean the prepared foundation on which the sidewalk is constructed. This work consists of constructing curb, gutter, and combination curb and gutter in accordance with these specifications and in reasonably close conformity with the lines, grades, dimensions, and cross sections shown on the plans or as established. Work consists of providing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for maintaining two-way through and local traffic at all times, except as provided herein or in other contract documents. It consists of constructing, maintaining in good condition, and removing temporary structures, approach roads, and other facilities required for maintenance of traffic and the furnishing of temporary materials therefore, unless otherwise indicated in the contract. This work includes furnishing, erecting, maintaining in good condition, and removing all required construction signs, barricades, and temporary traffic stripe. Unless shown otherwise in the plans, through and local traffic shall be maintained throughout the project at all times on existing facility, detours and completed permanent facility indicated on the plans and as necessary to carry out construction within the intent of the plans and contract. Minimum requirements of the Traffic Control Plan are shown on the plans. Mobilization consists of moving all labor, equipment, supplies, and incidentals to the project site and removing same after work under the contract has been completed. It also includes all mobilization pre-construction costs which are necessary to the project and are of a general nature rather than directly attributable to other pay items. It is understood that the notice of award will be issued on or around FEBRUARY 18TH, 2026
