The work consists of the High Knob Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project. The work includes installing a sidewall manway, replacing sidewall manway gaskets, replacing the wet interior roof hatch, installing deflector bars, installing a sample tap, making modifications to the overflow discharge, installing a fall prevention device, a step-off platform, a roof handrail and painter's railing, cathodic dips and pressure fitting, replacement of roof vent, pit welding, and removal of level indicator. Bid instructions and specifications may be obtained from the Office of the Director of Engineering. Each bidder must submit bid security as specified in the instructions to bidders. No bidder may withdraw their bid within ninety consecutive calendar days after the bid opening. Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations is required, including specific nondiscrimination and labor standards. All contractor questions about the project must be submitted in writing by email at least 5 days prior to the bid date. Tank Information: The structure is a 500,000-gallon standpipe with an estimated diameter of 42 ft. and an estimated sidewall height of 50 ft. located at the comer ofCommerce Dr. and Buena Vista Dr. in Ashland, Kentucky. The work includes: Exterior. Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard within containment. Apply a four (4) coat zinc epoxy urethane system. WetInterior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard. Apply a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system. Pit Piping: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. Apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Foundation: Caulk the baseplate. Abrasive blast clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Catch Basin: Install a concrete catch basin at the overflow pipe discharge. Repairs: 1) Install sidewall manway. 2) Replace the sidewall manway gaskets. 3) Replace the wet interior roof hatch. 4) Install deflector bars on the fill/draw pipe. 5) Install a sample tap on the fill/draw pipe. 6) Overflow discharge modification.
