Work consists of construction of 2,042 linear feet of 10" diameter waterline, 60 linear feet of 12" diameter waterline, connections to existing waterlines, valves, fire hydrants, and abandonment of existing waterline and valves. No bid will be considered unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by cash, a check payable to the City of Loma Linda and certified by a responsible bank for an amount which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the bid or by a bond for the amount over and above all statutory exemptions, or by a bond of an accredited surety company. The check or bond will be declared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses to enter into a contract within ten (10) calendar days following receipt of the contract from the City. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a labor and materials bond and a faithful performance bond in the amount equal to 100% each of the contract prices, such bonds to be secured by a surety company or surety companies satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Loma Linda. The successful bidder must possess a Class A, Engineering, or Class C-34, Pipeline, or an appropriate specialty Contractor's license at the time of award of this contract. Plans and specifications shall be purchased from the City of Loma Linda Finance Department at specified fees. The City of Loma Linda reserves the right to reject all bids and re-advertise if the City determines that acceptance of the lowest bid will not be in the best interests of the City of Loma Linda.
