Site work for a transportation facility in Oakland, California. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
The work consists of all labor, materials, equipment, and accessories necessary to complete the wayfinding improvements at the North Berkeley, Rockridge, and Fruitvale BART Stations. This includes furnishing and installing Real-Time Display (RTD) monitors, illuminated directional/exit and station identification sign cabinets, Transit Information Displays (TIDs) with station map, transit stops map, transit routes map, and schedules/fares inserts, and flat panel signage at station concourse, platforms, and plaza areas. The work includes electrical, communications, and structural components, removal of existing signs and supports, and restoration of finishes. Additionally, it involves lead paint and asbestos surveys/assessments and abatement. The estimated value of this Contract is $ 3.7 Million to $ 4.1 Million. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Such inquiries shall identify the Contract name and number, and shall be directed to the BART Procurement Department, Attention: Claudia Hogan, chogan@bart.gov. No response will be made to inquiries received by the District less than fourteen (14) days before the scheduled Bid opening Work for the Wayfinding Improvements Phase 4.1 project consists of, but is not limited to the following: A. Wayfinding improvements include furnishing and installing the following elements complete with lighting, anchorage to existing structural elements, footings, display cases, posts and frames, sign panels, and other graphics as indicated in the Contract Documents. 1. Variable Message - Real Time Display ("RTD") Assemblies, (including monitor, and PC), surface mounted. 2. Illuminated Cabinet Signage (one-sided and two-sided) overhead and surface mounted. 3. Cube Illuminated Cabinet Signage (three-sided) surface mounted. 4. Cube Illuminated Cabinet Signage (four-sided) overhead mounted. 5. Map/Schedule Display Cases with Transit Information Display ("TID") inserts including: transit stops map, transit routes map, and schedules/fare map. 6. Graphic sheets inserted in existing Map/Schedule Cases. 7. Flat Panel Aluminum Plaque Sign surface, flag, and post mounted. 8. Message/graphic acrylic panels and support rods for District Furnished Materials (Surplus Signs). B. Installation of District Furnished signs including refurbishing and repainting. C. Selective demolition to remove existing wayfinding elements in accordance with approved demolition plans and as indicated in the Contract Documents. Selected signs shall be salvaged and returned to the District Hayward warehouse. D. Patch, paint, and repair surfaces to match existing. E. Electrical work for illuminated wayfinding elements and Real-Time Displays ("RTDs"). F. Communications work for Real-Time Displays ("RTDs"). G. Relocation of existing advertisement signs. H. Relocation of existing trash receptacles. I. Traffic control and maintenance during construction, including control of pedestrian traffic; refer to Contract Specifications Section 01 57 00, Temporary Controls. J. Perform inspections and assessments for lead paint, asbestos, and other hazardous materials. Provide abatement of lead paint and asbestos in connection with removal of signs and installation of wayfinding improvements. Refer to Contract Specification Section 02 80 10, Hazardous Materials Abatement. K. Refer to Articles entitled "Site Access", "Hours of Work", and "District Support - Employee in Charge" herein for scheduling restrictions. L. Obtain permits. M. Temporary Work: Work shall include designing, detailing, furnishing, installing, and maintaining temporary wayfinding where existing signage is removed prior to installation of new wayfinding elements. Work includes submitting plans and proposed artwork for temporary signs for approval. Work includes removing temporary wayfinding after permanent work is installed. N. Furnishing all management, coordination, professional services, labor, equipment, and materials required to procure, construct, install, test, and commission the Work described in the Contract Documents.
