Demolition for an industrial development in Joplin, Missouri. Completed plans call for the demolition of an industrial development.
The project involves the demolition of the garage structure at 119 ½ S. Moffet Ave. The interior of the north half has collapsed, and roofing materials contain non-friable, 3% Chrysotile in a single layer of silver paint on asphalt material. The demolition contractor is required to remove the structure with personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to the following specifications: a roll off provided by the Asbestos Abatement contractor will be used, who will monitor and ensure the proper removal and disposal of all identified asbestos materials; the roll off is to be set in the alley, and the east wall is to be removed to access the collapsed roof materials; 4 feet of the south and west walls are to be left intact to serve as a retaining wall supporting the yard of 119 S. Moffet; 6 feet of the north wall is to be left intact to support the yard of 115 S. Moffet Ave. The successful bidder must be licensed, bonded, and insured and comply with all municipal codes and state regulatory requirements, including coordinating with the Asbestos Contractor and notifying the City of Joplin building division of the demolition schedule. Landfill address or GPS and Bill of Lading must be available upon request. Further specifications are on file with the Planning & Community Development Manager.
