Vernal City is seeking proposals from qualified demolition contractors for the full demolition and removal of the Lamplighter building complex and associated site elements, excluding the red brick hotel. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, equipment, materials, services, and disposal fees. Work includes obtaining permits, demolishing and removing all building structures on the southern portion of the property, removing concrete foundations, slabs, and footings, and clearing all debris and non-hazardous items. The asphalt parking lot with internal curb and gutter will remain. Disturbed areas must be backfilled and compacted to rough grade using fill material provided by Vernal City, with trucking and loading handled by the contractor. Contractors must maintain dust and traffic control, follow safety and regulatory requirements, and protect adjacent sidewalks and public rights-of-way. Contractors are also responsible for removing and disposing of any remaining liquids or non-hazardous materials inside the structure, and coordinating with surrounding businesses on special conditions. Salvage rights to items within and attached to the building will be granted, except where otherwise designated by the city. Required permits, including those from the DEQ, must be obtained and filed. Project completion date must be stated in the proposal. Proposals must be submitted by the specified deadline, delivered in a marked envelope or via email, with the contractor responsible for confirming receipt of email submissions.
