The City of Port Hueneme is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide field services related to water meter reading. The contract will be for two years with two one-year extension options. The scope includes performing start-up activities for approximately 5,800 service connections; this involves staff training, confirming route efficiency, integrating meter reading with the City’s "Tyler" utility billing system, and developing field service and accounting reports. The contractor must make reasonable efforts to read all accessible water meters, supply and maintain all necessary equipment, be capable of expanding services, and notify the City the same day about any hazardous conditions requiring immediate attention (such as broken valve boxes, missing covers, trip hazards, leaks, or construction issues). Proposals must be sent to the City Clerk, with the outside envelope clearly marked as "Proposal for Water Meter Reading Services," and must include and be organized by the items listed in the instructions.
