The Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota (the "University") is requesting Proposals to provide professional design services for the St Paul Campus Center located on the St. Paul campus. The Project will consist of design services for a new St Paul Campus Center building on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities' St Paul Campus. A predesign has been completed that provides a comprehensive approach to strategic, University-identified facilities changes, which will result in the partial demolition of the Magrath Library on the St. Paul Campus, while retaining its lower level access and infrastructure. The new St Paul Campus Center (approximately 94,792 sq.ft.) will support the needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the St. Paul location of the Twin Cities campus. It will be designed to retain select student-centered functions, including dining and retail spaces, gathering spaces, library spaces, and spaces for meetings and events, and will enable facilities and operations efficiencies across campus. Design for the new campus center will reflect the vitality and mission of the University of Minnesota and support the present-day story of the St. Paul Campus, while recognizing the campus' unique academic research history, and natural setting. The St. Paul campus will be a visible and visionary link between the University's land grant mission, the community, the state of Minnesota, and the world. It will proudly demonstrate the sustainable intersections of urban and rural environments, natural ecosystems and technology, and applied knowledge and academic discovery in a culture where all individuals are valued, respected, provided an opportunity to flourish, and unobstructed in their pursuit of excellence.
