Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Harper, Kansas. Completed plans call for the construction of a 6,900-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility.

The work consists of the design and construction of a pre-engineered metal building to serve as a municipal Public Works Shop. The building shall be 115 feet long by 60 feet wide, and include three vehicle bays, a breakroom, and a bathroom, meeting all applicable building and safety standards. The facility should aim for the highest level of energy efficiency reasonably possible within the scope and purpose of the project. The Contractor will provide a complete, functional facility including all design, engineering, construction, and site work. The scope includes, but is not limited to: a pre-engineered metal building (with possible alternative dimensions if cost savings and functional requirements are justified), an engineered concrete slab to support equipment up to 45,000 lbs, and fully constructed and finished interior breakroom and bathroom. The breakroom must accommodate 7-10 occupants and include features such as durable flooring, cabinetry, counter space, appliances, HVAC, lighting, insulation, and soundproofing. The bathroom must have commercial fixtures, finishes, proper water and ventilation, lighting, electrical outlets, and climate control. The shop area must support routine and advanced mechanical work with three vehicle bays (specified door sizes), heating, trench drain, and provision for a vehicle lift. The exterior includes a 5' wide concrete sidewalk surrounding the building and exterior lighting at all access points, designed for safety, security, and code compliance. Any proposed changes to dimensions must be justified within the proposal, detailing functional, operational, safety needs, cost savings, and future impacts.
