Site work and paving for a road / highway in Cape Coral, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The City of Cape Coral is soliciting bids for Major Roads Resurfacing FY2026 (Bid Number: BPW2621MR). Detailed specifications for the project may be obtained in the bid listing. Responses to this Invitation to Bid (ITB) must be submitted electronically. Bids will be publicly opened at Cape Coral City Hall. For those interested in attending the bid opening in person, the location details can be found in the solicitation under the "Activities" tab. Question Deadline 01/14/2026 at 3:00 PM ET- questions must be submitted through Ion Wave and received by stated time. The Contractor is to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and operations necessary to complete the following work for select structural repairs and resurfacing of selected Major roadways throughout various locations in Cape Coral (see Exhibit A. Map of Project Area). In addition to other items, as outlined in the specifications and bid documents, the asphalt concrete paving operations may include, but shall not necessarily be limited to all or part of the following: o Maintenance of Traffic (MOT): Provide, install, and maintain all required traffic control devices and detours in accordance with FDOT standards and City-approved MOT plans. o Public Notification: Notification to public safety departments and affected Citizens, up to including coordination with the City's Communications Department and door hangars, if necessary, of work within the right-of-way that would result in detours of emergency vehicles or interruptions of daily activities for residences and businesses. o Erosion Control: Provide erosion control measures on the project to prevent pollution of water, detrimental effects to public or private property adjacent to the project right-of-way and damage to work on the project. o Vegetation Control and Surface Preparation: Perform clipping, herbicide application, edge scraping, and surface cleaning to establish uniform pavement edges and proper drainage to adjacent swales. o Milling Operations: Milling of the existing roadway surface. o Leveling and grading: Perform grading and leveling of the existing surface to achieve uniform profile and cross slope prior to paving. o Roadway Widening: Construct widening improvements on Old Burnt Store Road in accordance to the typical cross-section and survey data provided in the bid documents. o Clearing and Grubbing: Cut, grub, remove and dispose of all trees, stumps, brush, shrubs, roots and any other objectionable material within the limits of the construction. o Regular Excavation: Excavate material between the original ground line and the finished grading template of the roadway. o Driveway removal and/ or replacement: remove or replace driveways as needed to construct roadway as needed o Ulitlity Adjustment and Repairs: adjust and/or repair existing utilities including manholes, valve boxes, and appurtenances to finished grade. o Delivery of material to the job site (hauling). o Application of prime and/or tack coat(s). o Roadway Structural Repairs: Perform structural repairs at locations directed by City staff. o Limerock Base: construct a base course on the prepared subgrade composed of limerock o Asphalt Testing: Submit in-place density tests to the City according to the tonnages outlined in the FDOT standards and specifications for road and bridge construction o Superpave Type SP-12.5 Asphalt Overlay o Pavement Markings: Replace all striping, symbols, and RPMs in accordance with current MUTCD and FDOT standards; add new markings where directed. This shall include, as needed, any thermoplastic pavement markings, thermoplastic directional arrows, words, including "only", thermoplastic bike symbols with arrows, and striping. o Cleanup: Street sweeping, as necessary, & final clean-up of the job site and repair of any damage caused by contract activities. o Sod Installation and Restoration: replace sod along roadway edges disturbed by construction with like kind and quality to match existing conditions.
