Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Madrid, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; and playground / park / athletic field.

This project includes repairs to two historically significant shelters in Ledges State Park near Boone, Iowa. For Oakwood Shelter, the entire log structure is to be disassembled due to shifting caused by a fallen tree. New column footings will be constructed, new log columns set, and the log structure reassembled using original components where possible. The existing roof and roof framing will be demolished and removed. A new log purlin roof will be constructed, and the stone chimney and fireplace brick will require cleaning and repointing. The brick floor and concrete walkway need cleaning and sealing, electrical conduits and receptacles will be rerouted and painted to match existing, and an ADA compliant concrete pad will be constructed for shelter grill access. For Henning Shelter, repairs to timber beams at some bearing locations are needed, flashing at the stone chimney and roof intersection needs repair, and realignment of the log framing must be completed. Each bidder shall accompany the bid with a bid security as defined in Iowa Code section 26.8. Copies are accepted for electronic submissions, but the original must be mailed if awarded. Bid security must be in the amount set forth in the bidding documents and payable to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Failure to execute a contract and file acceptable bonds and insurance within thirty days of award will result in rescinding of the award and forfeiture of bid security. Henning Shelter - Repairs to the shelters timber beams are needed at some bearing locations. Flashing is in need of repair at stone chimney and roof intersection.
