The project generally consists of: Construct a 420' by 250' concrete apron to the south of the existing North Apron and adjacent Taxilane Sierra, remove and reinstall existing edge lights, grading of surrounding apron, and cleanout existing channel. The above general outline of features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. The Contractor will commence the work required by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS within 10 calendar days after the date of the NOTICE TO PROCEED and Substantial Completion of the project will be obtained within 240 consecutive calendar days of the NOTICE TO PROCEED date unless the period for completion is extended otherwise by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. The Contractor shall be liable for the continued assessment of liquidated damages at $1,000.00 for each calendar day that the Contractor is in default in attaining Final Completion within the time stipulated as provided herein. Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate, sealed and deposited with the Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission prior to the hour and date hereinbefore designated. No bidder may withdraw its bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Each Bidder must deposit with his proposal, a Bid Bond in an amount equal to 5% (five) percent of its bid, payable to the Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission, as bid security. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract amount.
