Site work and paving for a road / highway in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

The work consists of providing materials and labor to design and construct ADA curb ramps, perform road repair, milling, and overlay various streets within the City of Bethlehem, as detailed in the contract documents. The work required under this item shall include the design and preparation of drawings, including obtaining all required permits, for the construction of ADA accessible curb ramps as required providing pedestrian access. Proposals must be accompanied by a bid security equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid in the form of a certified check, bank money order, or bid bond. All bids will be effective for sixty (60) calendar days from the date of bid opening, unless delayed by the required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds, or award of a grant. In these cases, bids remain effective for one hundred twenty (120) calendar days from bid opening. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder if awarded within this period. The contract must be completed within 45 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. The successful bidder must provide Construction Performance and Payment Bonds equal to 100% of the contract amount, including coverage for a 1-year correction period commencing upon completion of the work. Potential bidders must register with PennBid online to access project documents and submit confidential proposals. Registration is at no cost, and documents must be submitted exclusively through PennBid in PDF format, labeled "Proposal for 2026 04 Street Overlay." Incomplete or late proposals will not be considered. Hand-delivered, mailed, courier, faxed, and/or emailed responses will not be accepted. Upon request, bidders must deliver the original bid security within seventy-two (72) hours (excluding weekends and holidays) of a request. The project is subject to special requirements, including protection against discrimination, payment of certain minimum salaries and wages, and other conditions as specified in the contract documents. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or portions thereof. Repair of adjacent roadway o Longitudinal joint sealing o Loop sensor repair and/or relocation, video detection system adjustments as required. o Pavement marking removal and installation. o Sign installation, removal, relocation. o Cheek Walls installation MILLING - VARIABLE DEPTH (1 1/2 "-4") A. Description of Work The work required under this item shall consist of milling the existing bituminous road surfaces, concrete gutters and areas around existing inlets. All millings are to be deposited at the discretion of the City of Bethlehem. Milling shall be 1 1/2 " to 4" in depth at areas determined by the City. Work involved under this project consists of treating the existing surface with emulsified asphalt (see paragraph C-2) and placing one (1) of two (2) courses, 2" more or less, wearing course, of Super Pave Asphalt Mixture Design 9.5 mm, PG 64-22 Wearing Course 0.3 to 3.0 million ESALS SRL-H After establishing the new grades on the streets to be overlaid, it is found that it will be necessary to place the Super Pave in excess of a nominal two inch (2"), one (1) course depth, the Contractor will first place a Super Pave leveling course to reduce the surface course to a two inch (2") depth. At intersections, the Contractor shall pave the area between the curb lines of the street being resurfaced up to the end of the curb return of the intersecting street, unless otherwise directed. Driveway approaches shall be paved as directed to ensure proper drainage. SUPER PAVE ASPHALT MIXTURE DESIGN 25 MM PG 64-22 BASE COURSE (6" BASE REPAIR) - Work for this item includes the removal of all existing asphalt down to subbase. Subbase will be compacted with a jumping jack or other mechanical means. One (1) lift of 25 MM PG 64-22 Base Course SRL-H is then placed and compacted to a final height of 6 inches. Asphalt tack is then placed and 9.5 MM PG 64-22 Wearing Course SRL-H Overlay is placed to finished roadway height. TEMPORARY PAVMENT MARKINGS - Temporary line paining must be placed on milled and/or scratched surfaces including centerlines, lane lines, and arrows 4" DOUBLE YELLOW, 4" WHITE LANE LINE, 4" WHITE DASH/SKIP LINE, 4" YELLOW CENTER TURN LANE LINES The work shall consist of furnishing and application of waterborne pavement markings of the type and color indicated.
