Renovation of an educational facility in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,800-square-foot educational facility; and 2,000-square-foot educational facility.

Award Pending Contract Award on 2/10/26 Board Meeting. Sealed bids are sought for James Johnson Elementary School and Joseph D. Sharp Elementary School Main Office Security Vestibule Renovations. 1. The Contractors are strongly encouraged to verify all existing conditions, dimensions and areas prior to submitting a responsive/responsible bid. Site visits can be arranged through David Nuzzie dnuzzie@chclc.org, cell 856-366-0455 2. Bidding contractors are strongly encouraged to visit the site of the Project before submitting a bid. Such site visit shall be for the purpose of familiarizing the Contractor with the conditions as they exist and the character of the operations to be carried on under the Contract Documents, including all existing site conditions, access to the site, physical characteristics of the site and surrounding areas. 3. The Contractor shall provide one (1) full-time onsite Superintendent managing both sites who is present for all work at all times including, but not limited to, subcontractor work. The Superintendent is responsible for maintaining a daily log and verifying the security clearance of all personnel onsite and all other responsibilities outlined in the Specifications. The Superintendent shall coordinate and supervise, not be performing the work. 4. The Contractor is to provide a list to the Construction Manager with the names of all personnel on site, each day, and no later than two hours after the work has commenced or by 9:00 AM every day via email. 5. During the complete duration of the Work, the Contractor must maintain the continued operation and function of all services and systems including, but not limited to, fire alarm, data, network, information technology, security, audio visual, public address, electrical and HVAC. If a disruption to a system occurs, the Contractor must immediately take all actions necessary to restore the system at the earliest possible time. Any required shutdown of any system needs to be coordinated and scheduled with the Owner at times when school is not in session. 6. This work is scheduled to occur during periods of time when weather protection and temporary HVAC dehumidification will be required. The Contractor is responsible for all weather-related protection required to ensure that the work will continue uninterrupted until completion. 7. LOOSE FURNITURE, EQUIPMENT AND PERSONAL ITEMS: Unless noted otherwise, Owner shall be responsible to remove loose furniture, equipment and personal items from areas of work as needed to facilitate scheduled renovations. The Owner will work expediently to prioritize specific areas with the Contractor but may take up to five (5) calendar days after the last day of school to remove all items completely. 8. Where ceilings are removed, temporarily support all existing ceiling mounted devices. Bundle and tie loose wire prior to reinstalling devices on the new ceiling assembly. Fire alarm detection devices shall be relocated to the highest point possible under the structural roof deck. Cameras shall be adjusted such that they continue to provide coverage of intended areas. 9. Restore all grades, lawns, concrete curbing, sidewalks, asphalt, and pavement to pre-construction condition. All dumpsters or storage containers placed on existing concrete or asphalt paving must be placed on 5/8” plywood sheathing to protect paving. 1. James H. Johnson Elementary School: The Work at the existing Main Office and other adjacent spaces consists of the abatement of all asbestos containing materials throughout the existing space, the demolition of the ceilings, walls, and mechanical and electrical components. The renovations shall include the reconfiguration of the Main Office and other adjacent spaces (approximately 2,000 SF). Provide new metal stud/GWB partitions, masonry wall infills, new gypsum board furring on existing walls throughout, new flooring, ceilings, new HVAC and Electrical systems, a new security vestibule with a pass-thru transaction window, new interior and exterior storefront systems. The work includes masonry replacement and restoration with structural reinforcement of existing stack bond CMU structural walls and renovation of the existing Main entrance canopy. Refer to the Construction Drawings and Specifications for the complete scope of work. 2. Joseph D. Sharp Elementary School: The Work at the existing Main Office and other adjacent spaces consists of the abatement of all asbestos containing materials throughout the existing space, the demolition of the ceilings, walls, and mechanical and electrical components. The renovations shall include the reconfiguration of the Main Office and other adjacent spaces (approximately 1,800 SF). Provide new metal stud/GWB partitions, masonry wall infills, new gypsum board furring on existing walls throughout, new flooring, ceilings, new HVAC and Electrical systems, a new security vestibule with a pass-thru transaction window, new interior and exterior storefront systems.
