Renovation of a transportation facility in Springfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

Project consists of the renovation of two buildings' exterior facades that are made up of bricks, concrete masonry units, and concrete. The buildings are fully sprinklered and this renovation will not increase or decrease the occupancy of the building. The estimated total construction cost for the Prime Contractor is $300,000. Alternate No.1 is estimated to add $92,000. Bidder Questions must be received by email before February 12, 2026, to lzak@pvta.com Bid security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check payable to the Owner shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of (5%) percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of (60) days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. This project is being bid in anticipation of starting the work in the spring of 2026. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on or about April 1st , 2026, and after receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time of (90) days. All work shall be substantially complete in (75) days from Notice to Proceed. Each bidder shall include in their proposal all costs for permits as may be required for their portion of the work. The Building Permit will be obtained and paid for by the General Contractor. Bidders must submit the "Federally Required Contract Clauses" and "Federal Certifications" in Exhibit A and Exhibit B, at the time quotes are submitted. Bidders shall be DCAMM certified as Prime Contractors specializing in masonry and waterproofing. Bidders must submit a Division of Capital Asset Management approved Certificate of Eligibility and Update Statement pursuant to the requirements of G.L. c.149, 44D Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%), and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. All bids for this project are subject to applicable bidding laws of Massachusetts, including General Laws Chapter 149 as amended. The project will require filed sub-bids. Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of the Division of Occupational Safety of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. File Sub Bidders and General Contract Bidders must submit the "Federally Required Contract Clauses" and "Federal Certifications" in Exhibit A and Exhibit B, located at the end of these project specifications, at the time bids are submitted This Advertisement for Bids document is issued by Pioneer Valley Transit Authority. The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the awarding authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Owner. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Project consists of facade repairs to two existing masonry and concrete buildings. 2. More specifically, repairs include replacing damaged brick, CMU, cutting and pointing, and replacement of window lintels and flashings where indicated on the drawings. Cutting and pointing occurs throughout the building, but the upper elevations include extensive work. 3. At the Bus Maintenance Building, the scope also includes rebuilding the upper 4' of the brick chimney and concrete repairs at the ramp. 4. At the Bus Wash and Storage Building, the scope includes extensive work to the west facade along I-91. This includes cutting and pointing damaged joints and coating the entire elevation with an elastomeric waterproofing. At the bus wash wing, the scope includes epoxy injection of cracks. 5. Alternates: An alternate price is requested for the following: At the bus wash and storage building-Add coating of CMU on east elevations.
