Roof Replacement - Indian Orchard Elementary School, Project #26-095 at Indian Orchard Elementary School, 95 Milton Street, Springfield, MA 01118. Estimated construction cost is $4,700,000.00. The Project consists of but not limited to: THE ROOFING REPLACEMENT PROJECT FOR INDIAN ORCHARD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL INVOLVES THE COMPLETE REMOVAL OF EXISTING ROOFING, INSULATION, AND ASSOCIATED MATERIALS DOWN TO THE STRUCTURAL DECK. A NEW ROOFING SYSTEM--INCLUDING INSULATION, FLASHING, AND ALL RELATED COMPONENTS--WILL BE INSTALLED IN COMPLIANCE WITH CURRENT ENERGY CODES AND MANUFACTURER REQUIREMENTS. THE SCOPE OF WORK ALSO INCLUDES MISCELLANEOUS MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, AND PLUMBING ADJUSTMENTS AS NECESSARY TO ACCOMMODATE THE NEW ROOF INSTALLATION. ADDITIONALLY, THE PROJECT INCLUDES CREATING A CEILING OPENING ON THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE EXISTING BUILDING 1923 TO INSTALL A NEW ATTIC ACCESS LADDER, PROVIDING SAFE AND CODE-COMPLIANT ACCESS TO THE ATTIC SPACE FOR MAINTENANCE PURPOSES. ALL WORK WILL BE COORDINATED TO MINIMIZE DISRUPTION TO BUILDING OPERATIONS AND WILL COMPLY WITH APPLICABLE BUILDING AND SAFETY CODES All bidding Requests for Information (RFIs) shall be submitted online by 01/30/2026 at 4:00PM EST for general bids. Questions must be submitted in writing to the City (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) The City of Springfield requirement of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. General Information: The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to the following: a. Replacement of roofing, insulation and flashing including demolition of existing roofing materials down to roof decking and existing roofing renovation items such as brick repairs and parapet work. b. Temporary removal and reinstallation of existing rooftop MEP equipment to accommodate roof replacement (will require extension of equipment curbs and equipment utility lines). c. New wall, and ceiling framing/finishes as detailed for interior work. d. New concrete slab on grade with foundation walls. e. Sitework repairs to match existing conditions at beginning of project if on-site storage areas and work access routes damage existing site The scope of work, without limiting the generality thereof, includes all labor, materials, equipment and services required to perform the work described fully in the Drawings and Specifications and includes, but is not limited to the following major work: 1. Renovations including, but not limited to: a. Roof Replacement. b. Masonry demolition and patching. c. Roofing modifications at equipment / repairs to removed equipment. d. Metal framing. e. Concrete work. f. Light gauge metal framing and gypsum board partitions. g. Carpentry, caulking. h. Interior finishes. i. Suspended acoustic tile ceiling modifications. j. Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Protection, and Electrical. 20% of Minority Utilization 6.9% of Women Utilization 5% Veterans
