P993/995, F-35 Aircraft Maintenance Sustainment Center and Composite Repair Facility, MCAS Cherry Point, NC The justification and approval is being prepared for the use of brand name or equal descriptions on items in a firm fixed price (FFP) construction contract for Design-Bid-Build (DBB) P993/995, F-35 Aircraft Maintenance Sustainment Center and Composite Repair Facility at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina. The plans and specifications identify the standard of quality, characteristics, and performance requirements, including manufacturer and model, to establish the basis of design for approximately 119 items across all design disciplines. Other manufacturers may be used during construction provided they meet or exceed the specified standard of quality, characteristics, and performance requirements. A complete list of items and manufacturers with brand name or equal descriptions is included in the attachment. In accordance with DFARS 236.204, the magnitude of construction for this project is over $500,000,000. All inquiries must be submitted in writing and received by the Contract Specialist by the date specified herein in order to permit adequate time to reply to the inquiry. There is no guarantee that PPI's submitted after the cut-off date will be answered before the solicitation closes.
