Reference Number 0000407591 Purchase Type Duration: 1 year The City of Farmington Hills is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide headstone repair in a method consistent with the Michigan Historic Cemetery Preservation Guide and industry standards at the two (2) City owned cemeteries; Utley Cemetery is located on the north side of 12 Mile between Middlebelt and Inkster and West Cemetery is located on the south side of 12 Mile just east of Halsted. Buyer Preferences, Guidelines & Requirements General Requirements - Insurance Required SCOPE OF WORK The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials and supplies to remove, clean, re-erect, raise, realign and repair approximately fifteen (15) headstones in the two (2) City-owned cemeteries in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Previous experience with headstone alignment and repair shall be demonstrated as performed in a historical setting with historic monument style headstones. All work will be performed in a professional manner by experienced and well-trained personnel. The practices and procedures employed will be according to accepted industry standards in the cemetery headstone repair and setting profession. Any damage to monuments, markers or memorials will be the responsibility of the Contractor. Specific repair areas will be determined by the City with input from the Historic District Commission. Many of the markers have suffered inappropriate earlier repairs: metal channels affixed to the rear, been laid flat and encased in concrete, etc. The Contractor will be responsible for making the repairs when feasible and advising when a marker is "beyond repair" and efforts are likely to cause further damage
