Charlotte County Public Schools (CCPS) is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified firms pursuant to the Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA), Virginia Code 2.2-4300 et seq., and, where applicable, the Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act of 2002 (PPEA), Virginia Code 56-575.1 et seq. This Request for Proposals (RFP) seeks comprehensive services for the consolidation of electrical services, restructure of septic lines, removal of underground tank, construction of a new student spaces and gymnasium. CCPS is seeking for proposals to consolidate electrical for main building, restructure all septic lines behind main structure, construct approximately 14,000 square feet of student space instruct 100 ft x 100 ft high school competition gymnasium, consolidate and back feed existing electrical panel boxes, replace existing underground septic lines, remove abandoned tank, build new locker rooms, a nurse's office, five new classrooms, and restrooms to meet code for fixture requirements. The total estimated new building area is approximately 24,000 square feet. The selected contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, design, supervision, and permitting necessary to complete the following project components: 3.1 Gymnasium Construction (100' x 100') o Competition-level high school gymnasium. o Full-size basketball/volleyball court markings. o Spectator bleachers with ADA accommodation. o Sports flooring (maple hardwood or approved equal). o Official scoreboards, shot clocks, and athletic equipment. o Acoustic panels and gymnasium sound system. o HVAC sized appropriately for occupancy loads 650 with upgrade to 700. o Energy-efficient LED lighting and controls. o Wiring for Automatic goal lifts, two location. o All infrastructure wiring for network, and door controllers 3.2 Electrical Upgrades o Consolidation of existing electrical distribution for main building. o Backfeeding of existing panel boxes per code. o Upgrade or installation of new main electrical service as needed. o Coordination with utility providers, while working within school calendar to not conflict with school schedule o Removal of outdated/unused electrical infrastructure. 3.3 Septic Line Replacement o Locate existing underground septic lines. o Replace and reroute as necessary to meet current Virginia Department of Health regulations. o Provide updated engineering and certifications. o Restore all grounds to original or improved condition. 3.4 Addition (Approx. 14,000 sq. ft.) Includes: o Five (5) new classrooms. o New boys' and girls' locker rooms (team, PE, coaches rooms). o New nurse's suite including 2 exam room, waiting area, storage, and restroom. o Plumbing for ice machine and water coolers washer and dryer o Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems. o Elevator to meet ADA compliance. o Corridors, stairwells, and support spaces to include fire rated doors and door releases tied in with existing fire system o LVT flooring to match existing building o Exterior facade matching or complementing existing school facilities. (Brick) 3.5 Connectors o Protector and covered walkway access for CTE building to main building o Utility relocation and service upgrades. 3.6 Site Improvements o Grading and stormwater management. o Sidewalks, accessibility ramps, and entries. o Utility relocation and service upgrades. o Parking adjustments if required. o Bid Bond: 5% of proposal amount (if applicable). o Performance Bond: 100% of contract value. o Payment Bond: 100% of contract value. All bonds shall comply with Virginia Code 2.2-4337.
