Site work for a water / sewer project in Independence, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Sealed bids are requested for inspection and improvements to the Verdigris River Low-Head Dam. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to the City Clerk of Independence, Kansas, and marked accordingly. Contractors must review and be familiar with all contract documents prior to bidding, and visit the site to inform themselves of all existing conditions and limitations, including the cost of all items for the work. Any defects found in the contract documents should be reported as described in paragraph GC-3. All written addenda must be considered and included in the bid; oral instructions will not be recognized. Bids must be for a total package and total contract price, made on the provided forms, in ink or typewritten, with numbers stated in both writing and figures, signed in longhand, and without alteration. The sealed bid envelope must include the bid and a 5% bid security in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check. Bid security for unsuccessful bidders will be returned; for the successful bidder, it will be returned upon execution of the contract and required bonds and documents. No oral, telegraphic, facsimile, or telephone bids or alterations are accepted. For contracts over $10,000, certain non-resident bidders must register with the Kansas Secretary of Revenue and provide an acceptable bond as required by law. Question Deadline 01/29/2026
