The City of Independence, Kansas, is accepting sealed bids for the construction and installation of a Salt and Sand Storage Building. Bids must be submitted to the Office of the City Clerk at 120 N. 6th Street, Independence, Kansas 67301. Bids shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the outside 'Salt and Sand Storage Building Bid.' If mailed, the original envelope must be placed in a separate envelope addressed to the City Clerk and marked accordingly. E-mail or fax bids are not accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The apparent low bidder will be evaluated for responsiveness and responsibility and presented to the Independence City Commission for formal action. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities or irregularities, and accept the bid deemed most favorable to the City. No bidder may withdraw a bid for forty-five days after the bid opening. The City of Independence is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the design, construction, and installation of a covered salt and sand storage facility to support municipal street maintenance operations. The project includes all labor, materials, equipment, engineering (as required), permits, and incidentals necessary to deliver a complete and operational structure.
