The Kent County Purchasing Division is soliciting bids for trail pavement replacement on the Kent County Parks Pioneer Trail from the Fruitridge Avenue Tunnel west to the Kent County line. Bid award is inclusive of all projects and will be awarded to the overall lowest responsive and responsible bid. Work to be completed by June 15th, 2026. All parks and trails are available for viewing at any time. Pavement replacement is located on the Pioneer Trail from the edge of Fruitridge Avenue Tunnel west to the Kent County line; optional trail replacement to 4 Mile/Hayes. The trail is 7,000 linear feet at 10' wide; optional section is 1,800 linear feet. The scope of services shall include, but not limited to, the following requirements: o Crush and shape existing trail 5" depth fine grade material, apply 2% cross slope, compact to 95%. o Trail(s) to be paved at 3.5" depth, 2" base MDOT 13A, 1.5" top course MDOT 36A, compacted in place. o Contractor to grade after crush and shape to generate material to restore edges after paving is complete. o Contractor to grade out shoulders to match finish grade. o Reset any storm/sanitary/utility structures to finish grade. o Contractor to provide necessary road controls per local jurisdiction for entry/exit of trail and obtain all necessary permits for access/lane closures, if needed. o Contractor should contact Irwin Seating for potential access point on east end of project. o West access will be from 4-Mile/Haynes. o Project to be completed using current MDOT Standards for Construction. o Alternate Bid: Crush, shape, pave from Kent County line to 4-Mile/Haynes, 1800 linear feet per standards above. o Refer to Exhibit A for Map A pre-submission conference will not be held for this Solicitation. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND Each contract over $50,000 must be accompanied by a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each payable to the Owner (County of Kent) and each in the amount of 100% of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the funding agency, for the faithful performance of the contract.
